Custom Commissions

Would you like to celebrate the unique character and cherished memories held within your home?

Commissioning a drawing of your home is a wonderful way to preserve the countless memories, capture unique details or even create the perfect welcome. A house portrait truly captures the essence of a place where life unfolds, making it a deeply personal and meaningful keepsake.

Would you like to relive treasured memories through a unique piece of art, transforming your home into a gallery of your life’s most special moments?

Commissioning a memory portrait celebrates candid scenes where there’s no posing, just raw emotion and honest interaction. This perspective often reveals a deeper, more personal narrative than a posed image ever could.

Would you like to celebrate your pet’s story and create a lasting piece of art that truly captures their spirit?

Commissioning a drawing of your pet is a lovely way to immortalise their distinct personality, that mischievous twinkle in their eye, or the unconditional love they bring to our lives, making it such a sentimental piece in your home.

More than a house, it’s your story, beautifully captured.

Process for all Custom Portraits

  1. After you have made your purchase, please send me a message (see contact form at the bottom of the page) with your own high quality images and order number.

  2. Once I have completed the line work, it will be emailed to you for approval before colour is added.

  3. The final artwork will be messaged back to you for checking where you can suggest minor changes.

  4. Once you have approved your artwork, it will be printed onto high quality, 100% cotton, heavyweight art paper.

  5. The back of the image will be stamped and signed to show authenticity. It will be backed with card and packaged in an archival-sleeve before being gift wrapped and posted.

  • Unfortunately due to the personalised nature of custom orders, we are unable to offer refunds.

  • Please take a front view of your house/building and make sure everything is visible. A picture from view B is a necessity. Photos from angles A and C and any other photos you would like to send, can be useful to provide extra details.

  • Include in your message if there are any parts of your house that are particularly special as it is a hand-drawn piece of art rather than a photographic reproduction.

  • Ensure the photograph provided is the back (no faces). Often the most authentic moments are captured when people are unaware of the camera. A back view preserves this naturalness, free from forced smiles or poses.

  • Good quality images of your pet can be tricky to get, but here are a couple of tips;

  • It is best to get a picture of your pet outside so they are lit by natural light (preferably with the sun in front of your pet).

  • Please get a head shot that clearly shows the direction of their fur. The clearer the image the more detail I can see in order to complete your pet's portrait.

  • Take the picture from the pets height and their eye level so that the face can be seen, this ensures the final image is the best it can be.

  • A trick is to get to your dogs eye level and hold a treat or their favourite toy by the lens, this means they will be looking at the camera.

How is my portrait hand-drawn and coloured?

Your portrait begins with a careful, hand-drawn sketch on the iPad. This digital medium allows for a fluid and precise drawing experience, ensuring every line and curve contributes to capturing the essence of the subject. A significant advantage of using the iPad is the ease in which revisions can be made. This means I can adjust and refine the drawing based on your feedback, ensuring the final piece meets your approval.

Once the drawing is perfected, I move on to the colouring phase. This is where the drawing really comes alive with the vibrant hues and subtle shadows. Every stroke of colour is applied by hand, on the iPad, building up layers to create depth, texture and realism. Whether it is the warmth of the brick work, or the sparkle in an eye, each element is thoughtfully rendered to bring out the beauty and character of your custom piece. The digital format allows for a vast palette of colours and blending options, giving me the freedom to achieve a rich, nuanced finish.

What makes my portrait unique?

Your chosen photograph, infused with my unique style, takes the final product beyond a mere likeness, to an image full of atmosphere that captures the true spirit and character of the subject.
